That Watch App ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

We believe your watch collection is deeply personal. That's why we've built That Watch App with privacy at its core—your collection is private by default, and you control what, if anything, you choose to share.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name (optional)
  • Authentication credentials
  • Subscription status, plan type, and expiry date

Watch Collection Data

To provide our collection management features, we store:

  • Watch details (brand, model, reference number)
  • Purchase information (date, price, currency)
  • Personal notes
  • Watchbox names and organization (named groupings of your watches)
  • Accuracy measurements (offset, dial position, notes)
  • Wishlist items (watch references and notes)
  • Watch requests you submit (brand, reference, model, notes)

If you submit watch data to our catalog, that submission is linked to your account.

Wear Logs

When you log wearing a watch, we store:

  • Date of wear
  • Notes (up to 500 characters)

Feedback & Bug Reports

If you submit feedback or a bug report, we collect:

  • Category and message body
  • Device information (platform, app version, OS version, device model)

Device & Usage Data

To provide and improve our service, we collect:

  • Device UUID (a persistent identifier for your device)
  • Platform, app version, OS version, and device model
  • Last seen timestamp
  • Crash reports and performance data

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the That Watch App service
  • Enable collection management, wear tracking, and accuracy measurement features
  • Generate personal insights about your collection and wear patterns
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, deletion confirmation, data exports)
  • Improve and optimize the app experience
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Log certain user actions (such as profile updates, data exports, and consent changes) for security and compliance. IP addresses may be recorded with these audit events.

Privacy Controls & Your Choices

Private by Default

Your collection is private. There are no public profiles or sharing features. No other users can see your collection, wear logs, or any personal data.

Your Identity

An email address is required to create an account. Your display name is optional, and your collection data is private by default.

Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure, encrypted storage for sensitive financial data (purchase prices)
  • Regular security audits and updates

Device Attestation (Apple App Attest)

To verify app integrity and prevent fraud, we use Apple's App Attest service. A device attestation public key is stored on our servers for this purpose.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Secure data storage and processing
  • RevenueCat (Subscription Management): We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Your RevenueCat ID is stored and your subscription status is synced daily. All payment processing is handled entirely by RevenueCat and the app stores — we do not store your payment methods.
  • Brevo (Email): Transactional emails (account verification, deletion confirmation, data exports) are sent via Brevo SMTP.
  • Watch Data Services: Reference data for specifications and pricing (no personal data shared)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your collection data with advertisers.

AI-Assisted Features

Our watch lookup feature uses an external AI provider (large language model) to enrich watch data. When you perform a lookup:

  • The query sent to the AI includes only the watch brand name and reference number — no personal data is shared
  • Usage is tracked via a credit system (3 free lookups, 15 per month for subscribers)
  • We log the AI provider and model used for each lookup for quality assurance purposes

AI-generated results are informational and not guaranteed to be accurate.

Data Retention & Deletion

Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specific retention schedules include:

  • Sign-in IP addresses are cleared after 90 days of inactivity
  • Audit log IP addresses are subject to the same 90-day retention schedule
  • Expired tokens (password reset, email confirmation, one-time passwords) are automatically cleaned on a regular schedule

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion at any time through the app settings. Upon requesting deletion:

  • A 30-day grace period begins, during which you can cancel the deletion
  • After the grace period, all personal information is permanently anonymized
  • Your watch collection data, wear logs, watchboxes, and all associated data will be removed
  • This action cannot be undone after the grace period

Data Export

You can export your complete data at any time, including your account information, watch collection, watchboxes, wear logs, and accuracy measurements. We believe your data belongs to you, and you should always have access to it.

Children's Privacy

That Watch App is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
